The staff were all so welcoming, especially the bar tender we had the first couple of nights, he made a stunning French Martini! The rooms were clean and cosy lovely big comfy bed and plenty of room to get ready with nice little extras in the room. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options and especially the eggs Benedict! Delicious. Thank you for an amazing stay

The hotel is high standard for a pleasant and nice stay in Hamburg. The location is super convenient to visit the city.

Keep bar opened for people who come to enjoy concerts and post concert receptions. You are minutes away from the great Elbphilharmonie!!

Super hotel, very close to the Old Town and a short walk to the Harbour area. Would happily stay here again - the rooms were high quality and super comfortable. Only thing I'd say is the breakfast is incredibly highly priced - over €30 each which put us off having it, even though we could expense it. There's a semi-decent bakery on the corner that we used instead.

Loved this hotel. Beautiful interiors, and felt quite luxurious. We didn't like the layout of the room, the half bedroom, half bathroom mix was just weird. But other than that everything was lovely. Would have been nice to be able to have roomservice. All staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast service. We will for sure use this hotel again when we come back to Hamburg. Was very close to everything, and still nice and quiet.

This was such a modern hotel in the perfect location. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for a romantic couples weekend away. The staff were always helpful and the whole place gave off a really classy feel. We’d definitely stay again.

The hotel is lovely and the location very near to all attractions. I have slightly marked my review down from 10 out of 10, because when returning from an evening meal we wanted a night cap in the bar and it was closed even though the information in the room said it should of been open

I am quite frequently in Hamburg for business, but always stay at Marriott properties due to the loyalty program. Booking.com has suggested the Nicolai hotel to me a few times, and it looked really good in the photos, but I was suspicious of how it could be all that for such a significantly lower price than Marriott. This time I tried the Nikolai out, and I was absolutely blown away – it is beautiful, feels very luxurious, the staff are well trained and attentive with a great attention to detail. Despite the sumptuous furnishings, which can sometimes make a property harder to clean than more utilitarian designs, this hotel is spotless. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is great. And the setting on the water is very special. I’ll be back.

The Nikolai is such that it is walkable to everything in the center of town. The room was distinctively decorated with a flair for the modern and no luxury was spared. The only imperfection was that the offsite parking ticket had to be turned in to the hotel after the car left the parking. The city center driving made this difficult. Otherwise this hotel was wonderful.

Beautiful and cozy hotel

Well situated hotel close to Elbphilharmonie and city center. Ambitions are high but on the second day of the stay the breakfast service was very poor due to lack of staff apparently. Existing staff did their best.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Hotel and Room were very nice with everything functioning well. The breakfast buffet was also great with a large variety of options.

I do not know the blonde woman‘s name that worked the reception on Friday (20.9.24) night but she deserves employee of the month/year!! She was incredibly nice and forthcoming and supportive in trying to get our groups‘ rooms closer together! Thanks to her our trip was so much more fun, since we weren’t so separated. The beds were amazing, one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. It was also convenient that before check in and after check out we were allowed to leave our luggage there, instead of having to carry it through Hamburg. The bar staff was so friendly and funny. The bartender on Saturday (21/9/24) made me a delicious non-Virgin Hugo! He was so cute! The maintenance man helped my best friend and I retrieve her press-on nail after it fell into a little grid thingy! He made a super embarrassing situation somehow LESS awkward and saved my best friend’s look! A true king right there. We saw the cleaning crews in the mornings and they were always super nice and always greeted us. We opted to not have our rooms cleaned during our stay so I can’t speak on any of that, but the room was spotless when we first arrived. Thank you to the entire team! Our girl‘s group had a very good time and that meant a lot to us since we don’t get together often as we all live in different parts of the world now. The staff of Nikolai Hotel was integral to our trip going well! Thank you so much lovely staff

The Nikolai is a luxurious and peaceful place to stay in Hamburg. Really well located and only minutes walk from the Aldstadt, it has well appointed rooms and comfortable beds. The staff are excellent and incredibly helpful. I can highly recommend this hotel if you're planning a trip to Hamburg.

We had a fantastic stay at the Nikolai Hotel Hamburg. The hotel is clean, well presented and in a great location. The staff are friendly and our suite was amazing, so many thoughtful little details were included. We look forward to returning.

Lovely character hotel close to city centre and warehouse district

Solid hotel, well priced. Located close to the train station. No room service and no gym are important to note. Great rooms.
